Encrypted from your screen to the network. A soft inquiry is all it takes to start.

Write one request. We carry it to the lenders.

Tell us how much you need, anywhere from $100 to $5,000, on one short form. FundInHand hands it to a whole network of lending partners at once, and any partner who can help replies with its own terms.

How it moves

From your hand to the network

Three steps, all of them in your browser. Nothing to print or post, and no branch to visit.

  1. The form

    Write the request

A few minutes on one secure form: start with the amount, then a handful of questions about your income and your bank account.

    • Soft inquiryLooking at your options begins with a soft inquiry. Your credit score stays exactly where it was.
    • EncryptedEverything you type is encrypted on the way to us and while we keep it.
    • FreeSending it is free, and it signs you up for nothing.

  2. The match

    We look for a fit

We put your request in front of every lending partner in our network at once. When one wants to help, we connect you so you can read its offer.

    • No approval is impliedEach lender makes up its own mind about whether to lend, and on what terms.
    • How a partner is pickedPartners bid on each request, and the top bid still open wins the introduction. You pay nothing either way.
    • We never ring you to sellFundInHand does not phone anyone to sell. Lenders may get in touch, and so may any third party you okayed while filling in the form.
    The terms, printed large
  3. The funds

    Funds, if you accept

Should a lender approve you and you say yes to its offer, the money comes from that lender, never from FundInHand. The lender and your bank decide the timing.

    • The lender writes the termsRates and fees arrive in the lender's own paperwork. We have no say in them.
    • Timing, if you are approvedPlenty of lenders deposit the money as soon as the next business day, if approved. Weekends and bank holidays can add a day or two.
    • Late payments cost youSay yes only to repayments you can meet. If one is going to be late, call your lender before the due date.

The part you keep

You fill in the slip. Every choice after that is yours.

No offer binds you until you accept it in writing. Read the terms whenever it suits you, then keep the offer or tear it up.

What it costs

Your receipt comes to $0.00

We charge you nothing to send a request and nothing when we introduce you. Any rate, fee or payment date is set by the lender making the offer, and you see it in writing first.

Our lending partners cover the introduction.

  • A soft inquiry first

Checking what is on offer is a soft inquiry, and your score does not move. A full credit check comes later, and only from a lender whose offer you decide to take up.

  • Kept under lock

Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and shared only with the lending network you send it to.

  • Free to walk away

There is no fee to send it. Take as long as you like with any offer, and say yes only if it suits you.

If you have a question about an approval, a deposit or a repayment, ask the lender who made the offer. FundInHand does not lend, and we have no view of a loan once it is pending or approved.

Plain terms

The back of the ticket, printed large

The five points people ask about first, set out here instead of in small type at the bottom of the page.

1Sending does not mean approved

Your request goes to the lenders in our network. Whether any of them works with you, and on what terms, is their call alone. We make the introduction and step back.

2We do not make sales calls

We do not phone you to sell anything. Once the network has your request, you may be contacted by a lender, or by a third party you ticked on the form. Opting out is open to you at any time.

3You can say no at any point

Every offer comes with its rate, fees and repayment schedule written down. Take your time with it and turn it down if it is wrong for you. A request is never a promise to borrow.

4Where our money comes from

Our lending partners pay us, usually through bidding: the partner with the highest bid still open is the one connected to you. You are never charged.

5Saying yes to a credit check

Sending a request gives FundInHand and its partners your authorization to check your credit and to pass your details to our lenders. Every detail is on the Credit Authorization page.

Questions

Before you hand anything over

If something here is still unclear, write to us before you send a request. The address is at the foot of every page.

1Will FundInHand be my lender?

No. FundInHand is a free referral service. We hand your request to a network of lending partners. If one of them offers you a loan, the rates, fees and terms are all its own.

2What amounts can I choose?

Fifteen fixed amounts, from $100 up to $5,000. Whether a lender offers you a loan, and how much, is up to that lender.

3Does sending a request affect my credit score?

No. It begins with a soft inquiry, which has no effect on your credit score. If you carry on with one lender, that lender may then run a full credit check, but only with your say-so.

4How soon could the money arrive?

Plenty of lenders in the network move the money as soon as the next business day, if approved. The lender, your bank and the hour your request is complete all play a part.

5Do I pay FundInHand anything?

Nothing at all. Our lending partners pay us for introductions, and a request never commits you to anything.

6What happens after I send it?

It goes to the lending partners in our network. A lender that wants to help sends you to its own site, where you can read the exact rate, fees and repayment dates before agreeing to anything. You can always walk away.

7Who looks after my details?

We protect your information with standard industry security, and it stays encrypted in transit and in storage. Everything we collect, and every company that receives it, is named in our privacy policy.

On the table

Every policy, laid out where you can read it

Each of these is linked from the foot of every page as well.

Paid by partners, not you

We do not lend. The advertising disclosure sets out how partners pay us and how that can affect which offers you see.
